As I sit at my desk to write this note, U.S. stock prices are trending lower during this first week after the Labor Day holiday break. Concerns about global trade and geopolitical events seem to be weighing on investor sentiment.

Nevertheless, we don’t think that the bull market in US stocks is over quite yet. The recent market action does suggest that the risks of a bear market are growing. However, we believe the best response to uncertainty is to remain well-diversified across global markets and to make sure that funds needed in the next few years are invested in low-risk, fixed income investments.

Best,
Jeanie
